Return to Argentine Ships

Standard fleet destroyer built by the Germanic States for its own Navy and those of its allies that it provided ships and designs for. Very good seaboats with a blend of armament, torpedoes and speed to make them dangerous to all of their foes.

The armament of the ships utilised the new lightweight twin 5.1" turret, which was a lighter built and unarmoured version of those fitted to the capital ships. These were fitted fore and aft with two quadruple sets of torpedo tubes, one aft of each of the funnels.

Light AA was provided by a twin 37mm aft and 4 x 20mm single monts around the bridge with a quad 20mm mounted on a bandstand fitting behind the 37mm guns. Like all of the Gernanic States destroyers these ships were fast, able to make over 36 knots and were designed to be a knot or two faster than their competitors. Radar and ASW detection gear was fitted to the ships during refits pre-war and during the war.
